weekend (disquisition of a year)

i'll love you on the weekend
when i'm not drowning in despair.
acoustic guitars in my mind,
please be cruel, even just a glare
anything to keep these eyes from tearing up
cause crying i would not dare
i regret my wayward response
under the inquiry, "do you care?"

and our fingers almost touched
minus only the miles.
and our eyes just nearly met,
our faces devoid of smiles.
and your body, so distant,
is as cold as porcelain tiles
my love poems, untouched,
rest in lonely piles.

i curse your being a masochist,
please readjust your aim.
if pacing represents a calmed mind
i'd easily say i'm lame.
escaping the noisy anchor
and headlights still the same.
the price of gas is far inflated
it's time to end this game.

thank you bloc party for the initial inspiration. don't let it get to your head though. cause you guys sucked face hard after silent alarm. there's kind of a joke in there. look at the front cover of your album intimacy...

AHH travis WHY is that poem SO good.
dear lord. GOOSEBUMPS and tingles
fireworks and strawberries
pancakes and smiles
love you dearly.
