it's a debilitation existent since birth,
replace my vices.
pricetags ripped out of the stitching
we're all of equal worth.
bury under my skin,
purchased with blood cells and platelets,
wine vinegar and glass shards;
remove that pearl
cause it's not at home on earth.
forgive the trespasses i've allowed;
refresh this page.
a heart-shaped card torn asunder,
a darkened, blasting cloud.
slice through the layers of my soul
bought with miracles and betrayals,
fought for with broadswords and poetry.
restore that chest
cause the vessel of a treasure should be breathtaking.

banners & footholds
let's store our memories deep inside
our circumstancial, metal bin.
a condemnation, plated in tin
and now you can't see through me.
the you that once was
cracked the code to my crevasse,
this gaping, prevalent hole.
too weighted for you to catch
but my heart has long since gone
blocked itself from sure endangerment
my misjudgement evident
if cells won't dare hold criminals,
how can i hold you?
time it has no power here
empty space, it holds no mystery
your fingers waiting listlessly
nervousness is not your good side
trading thoughts beneath the radar
we've all worn out our invitation
charming, blessed anticipation
leave while you're still intact.
the you that once was
cracked the code to my crevasse,
this gaping, prevalent hole.
too weighted for you to catch
but my heart has long since gone
it's served two masters for its entirety
we assume but don't accomplish
and if plans are never infinite
how can i hold you?
your ideas cannot save me from
this unexplainable detriment
and if you and i were never meant
how can i hold you?
i just couldn't help saying some of the rhymes. even if they don't make sense. "unexplainable detriment... you and i were never meant." who could resist?

adherance, persay?
bust into backstage
holding nothing but a calm demeanor.
change the reel,
'cause this isn't the scene i want.
we'll burn this theatre
but release its denizens to cause their terror.
they'll initiate more harm
than a love-struck teen.
and we'll never know what hit us.
praise God from whom
all blessings flow.
praise the industry who
cradles us through the hours.
praise controversy,
eliminating life's simplicity.
but don't praise me
i'm just an interpreter.
and i never know what you mean.
pencilling with my finger,
i'm etching on your back
a message you can't read;
and i'd never intend you to.
illustrating the story
of our relationship so sadly undefined
but i'll inscribe it anyway.
i write to unload, i write for you.
and you'll never know the joy.
praise God from whom
all blessings flow.
praise the industry who
cradles us through the hours.
praise controversy,
eliminating life's simplicity.
but don't praise me
i'm just an interpreter.
and i never know what you mean.
but don't praise me.
oh don't you dare praise me,
cause you should know by now
that i never know what you mean
probably my best to date. but don't take me to court on that.
